Delta Gallery Community Arts Center

When did you open Delta Gallery, and what was your inspiration?

Delta Gallery Community Art Center, aka Delta Gallery, was restructured from a for profit gallery back in 2014 into what is now a cooperative style nonprofit gallery. It is owned by the local artists of Art Guild of the Delta, Inc which is a 501(c)(3). Delta Gallery serves as a community resource in arts awareness, arts processes, and arts education.

What is the meaning/reasoning behind your business' name?

Delta Gallery Community Art Center is a name that both depicts the area in which we live, play and create and also a place where we welcome our communities to explore, learn and be inspired.

What services do you offer?

Delta Gallery offers local and regional artists the opportunity to display work on a quarterly basis. Showing work gives the community an opportunity to appreciate original artwork and their processes. We also offer many community organizations and schools a professional gallery space to display their artwork. We are pleased to annually host the Los Medanos Community College Student Art Show, Brentwood Unified School District Art Docent Student Winners Show and High School Art Shows. We have also hosted One Day At a Time’s first annual student art show, California Watercolor Association regional shows, Solo Exhibitions for regional artists and group shows. With every new show we open, the public is invited to a fun and vibrant reception where they have the opportunity to speak to the artists and learn more about their art process and background.

Delta Gallery also offers art instruction on many different levels and many different mediums. Classes for all ages include instruction on drawing, watercolor, acrylic, oils, pastels, jewelry making and summer fun & holiday fun craft classes for children and teens. Delta Gallery works closely with Los Medanos Community College's Occupational Work Experience program, offering regular semester long internships to students who will study art and will likely follow an art career in some capacity in their future.

Delta Gallery offers a beautiful backdrop for many nonprofit organizations’ fundraisers. We host International Soroptimists of the Delta for their regular and special meetings and fundraisers. We are also home to Art Guild of the Delta and Brentwood Art Society where we plan the popular Art, Wine & Jazz Benefit Festival every year.

What makes your business unique from other art studios?

Whether you come in just to have a quiet look around at the diverse artwork displayed, or for an art workshop, or a fun time at a reception, you will always leave with a smile on your face and inspiration in your heart. We offer original items to purchase for special occasions, for collectors and love creating a new collector. There is something for everyone at Delta Gallery to enjoy.

Delta Gallery is run by a voluntary management team and voluntary art docents. It is a treasured space for those who work to achieve its success and always our intention to create awareness of art processes and appreciation and that inspired smile that we see so often on the faces of our visitors young and old.

Do you have any plans/changes for the upcoming future?

Delta Gallery hopes to continue solid growth in art instruction/classes/workshops and we are always looking for new and exciting artists!
